In a nutshell (get it?!) plant-based means food that comes from plants and doesn’t include any animal ingredients, whether that’s meat, milk, eggs, or honey. However, some people who follow a plant-based diet may consume primarily plants, but also consume small amounts of animal products. We like clean ingredients (and as few as possible) with a focus on whole foods. That’s what we’re talking about when we say No B.S.

Good ‘ol PB & J. It’s tried. It’s trusted. It’s true. Would it even be ok to mess with this culinary institution? Our customers say YES! Although we haven’t yet stumbled upon some of the more obscure pairings such as peanut butter and sauerkraut sandwiches or peanut butter and condensed milk sandwiches (yes, this really is a thing), we are enjoying the more palatable versions such as peanut butter and strawberry sandwich options.

If you’ve noticed more plant-based foods in the aisle, you’re not just seeing things. In fact, according to a recent report by Nielsen, nearly 40% of Americans are now "actively trying to eat more plant-based foods" which could explain the desire to have more plant-based options available at the grocery store.

It’s ok not to be ok…
It’s National Mental Health Awareness Month, so we figured it was a great time to chat mental health over here at Real Talk. Let’s face it, we are all touched by mental health challenges in one way or another. Whether it’s our own personal struggles or those of the people around us, it’s something that impacts us all. What’s more, mental health is a HUGE factor in our overall health, which is one of the many reasons we think National Mental Health Awareness Month deserves our attention.
